Ingredients:

Rice flour - 1/2 kg
Coconut milk 1 1/2 cup
Sugar 4 tbsp
yeast 1/4 tsp
*Kappi -
Salt to taste

Method
To make *Kappi
Take 3 tbsp rice flour coarse (thari), mix it in 2 cup of water.
Heat it, till it becomes thick. stir it continuously. Set aside to cool.

Mix the yeast in 3 tbsp lukewarm water and add it in the rice flour.
Add Kappi, and make a thick batter and leave it for 6 - 8 hours for fermentation.

After fermentation, add coconut milk , sugar and salt. Mix well.Take appam chatti (special kadai for making appam, u can use any wok with lid) heat it. Rub little oil. Pour 1 - 1 1/2 ladle of batter into the chatti, and turn around the chatti to make it a round shape, with thick in the center and thin edges. Close the lid. Keep low flame. Keep for almost 2 minutes.
Serve it with mutton stew or veg stew.
