Ingredients for Chole
Kabooli channa - 250gms
Onion Chopped - 1 1/2 cup
Tomatoes Chopped - 1 cup
Chilly powder : 1tsp
Coriander powder :1 tsp
Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
Ginger-garlic paste - 1tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon stick
Channa masala powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves chopped
Water - 3 cups
Oil 3 tbs
Ingredients for Battura
Maida - 2 cups
Baking Powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt
Sugar - 1tsp
Curd - 2 tbs
Ghee - tsp
Water
Method to make Chole
Soak the channa overnight. Heat oil in a pan, add cinnamon stick, cumin seeds and
allow it to splutter. Saute onion and tomatoes till it becomes transparent. Add
ginger garlic paste followed by chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder.
Next add channa and garam masala, channa masala and salt. Mix it well and
transfer it to a pressure cooker. Add water and cook it for 12 - 15 min. Garnish
with corriander leaves.
Method to make Batura
Take 2 cups of Maida, baking powder. Mix them well with curd, water and ghee.
Dissolve the sugar in water and add to it and knead it well till it becomes soft
enough. Keep the dough aside for about 2-3 hrs. Make larger round shaped puri.
Heat oil in a kadai. Put the puri, and fry in medium flame, both sides.Serve it with chole.
