CHAEMBU-CURRY- Colocasia

Ingredients:
Chaembu (colocasia) - 150g
Coconut - 1 cup (grated)
Small onion - 6nos
Green chilly - 2nos
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Tamarind juice - 11/2 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Water - 2 cups
Curry leaves -2 stalks
Mustard seeds
Dried red chilly
Oil - 1tbsp

Method
Remove the skin of the chaembu and cut in to cubes. In a pan boil the chaembu with 1 1/2 cup water, turmeric powder, split green chilly and chilly powder. When half done add tamarind juice and salt.
Make a fine paste of coconut with cumin seeds and small onions, add this paste with 1/2 cup water to the cooked chaembu. After adding the coconut paste stir it for two minutes , remove the pan from the fire and add the splutter mustards with curry leaves, chopped small onions and dry red chillies. The Chaembu curry is ready to serve with rice or rice gruel.
